In the year 17 B.C., two friends, Simon and Paul, decided they wanted more in life, so they set out to become merchants. They went into business together and decided to open a clothing shop in Rome. Simon’s family was Greek, and Paul’s family was Roman. Both friends had very different styles, but they combined them to create one style, which was later known as Greco-Roman.
